About This Tool

What this is

This is an independent fan-made decision tool for Crimson Moon, the 2026 game by ProbablyMonsters. It answers one narrow question: what happens to a piece of gear in your current run, your permanent Collection, and your next run. Those three outcomes are always answered separately, because the game treats them separately.

It is not a wiki, a build planner, a tier list, a DPS calculator, or a complete item database.

The six inputs

Every answer comes from six explicit choices, nothing else:

  1. Source — where the item came from (found loot, Gajov purchase, starting loadout).
  2. Purification — whether it is already in your Purified Items / Collection.
  3. Tier — its current Tier, with a conditional permanent-minimum question that appears only for already-purified items and is never inferred.
  4. Location — equipped, carried in inventory, stash, permanent Collection, or discarded.
  5. Next — what happens next, with a between-mission Hub return and successful full-run completion as distinct choices.
  6. Boon — none, Innate, or Temporary.

Platform and game patch are optional context. The tool never asks for item names, accounts, or uploads.

Versioned rules and the source ledger

Answers are produced by a versioned rule bundle. Each rule records its ID, the sources it relies on, applicable platforms, patch semantics, and a last-verified date. The public source ledger distinguishes official announcements, developer-referenced wiki pages, and community reports—community reports confirm that a problem exists but never create rules on their own.

Rules are rechecked after game updates. If a rule cannot be revalidated, it is marked stale and stops producing recommendations until it is reviewed.

Fail-closed by design

When a case is outside the verified rules—Legendary items, co-op disconnects, crashes, save rollback, item-specific Boon details, and similar edges—the tool says the case is not safely covered and names one safe next step. It does not guess, does not quote unverified costs or thresholds, and does not borrow evidence from a different case to fill a gap.

When evidence is missing, conflicting, outdated, or unreachable, the checker says so: an output section without bound evidence states that the case is not covered.

Every resolved answer shows its confidence, platform, patch, and last-verified date together with the sources it used. Confidence is never displayed without a bound source. Platform and patch are never assumed: if you skip them or the patch is unknown, the answer is flagged accordingly.

Asset use and credits

The hero artwork was provided by the site owner for this project. Any official game material appears only in limited context to identify in-game items or explain results, with a provenance record and a placeholder fallback. Official materials are never used as this site’s logo or primary brand.

This is an independent fan project. Crimson Moon, related names, trademarks, and official game materials belong to their respective owners.
