Crimson Moon Gear & Purification Checker

See what happens to your gear this run, in your permanent Collection, and next run.

Looking for the best Crimson Moon build, weapon, or armor? This tool does not rank equipment or optimize builds. It checks what happens to verified gear, Purification, Loadouts, Boons, Gajov, and next-run outcomes.

Check What Happens to Your Crimson Moon Gear

Answer six short questions about where the item came from, whether it is already purified, its current Tier, where it is now, what happens next, and the Boon type. You get a five-part result—Current Run, Permanent Collection, Next Run, Recommended Action, and Evidence & Confidence—or a clear notice when the current evidence does not safely cover the case. Item names are not required.

How Crimson Moon Gear Purification Works

Purification is the covered return of eligible gear to Sanctus Clypeus. When an eligible item comes back to Sanctus on a covered return—whether you return between missions, after death, or after successfully completing the full run—it is automatically purified. There is no Purify button.

Purification separates two things players often mix up: the found Tier, which belongs to the current run, and the permanent Collection unlock, which starts at Common for a newly discovered item. A higher found Tier does not set the permanent minimum quality.

Why Purified Gear Returns to Common

A newly discovered item can be used at its found Tier during the current run. When it is purified, its first permanent Collection unlock starts at Common—so a Rare drop becoming a Common Collection entry is the verified mechanic, not a bug.

The found Tier never writes to the permanent minimum quality. Raising that minimum is a separate action: a permanent Gajov upgrade.

Crimson Moon Loadouts: When You Can Change Gear

Returning to Sanctus between missions does not end the active run. Because the run is still active, the Loadout Station can remain locked until the run ends. The verified rules still allow gear swapping within the current mission/run context.

A between-mission Hub return (run stays active) and successfully completing the full run (run ends) are different states with different outcomes—the checker asks you to pick the right one.

Innate vs. Temporary Boons in Crimson Moon

An Innate Boon is fixed to the equipment at the generic mechanism level. A Temporary Boon applies only to the current run and should not be expected in the next run.

Item-specific Innate Boon details require verification on the item card in your current game version.

What Gajov Upgrades Change

Buying gear from Gajov and permanently upgrading gear with Gajov are different actions. A purchase gives you the item at the purchased Tier for the current run, but its permanent Collection unlock still starts at Common.

A permanent Gajov upgrade raises the item’s minimum quality for future loadouts and drops. Exact costs, caps, and Legendary rules are not covered.

What Gear Survives After Death or a Completed Run?

In the covered case, eligible gear—equipped, carried in your inventory, or in your stash—returned to Sanctus can be automatically purified, including the verified death-return case. Equipped is not safer than carried or stashed eligible gear on covered returns.

The higher Tier found during the run and Temporary Boons do not become next-run properties. Discarded or lost items, quitting mid-run, crashes, save rollback, and co-op disconnects are not covered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did my Rare gear become Common after purification?

The Tier you find belongs to the current run. In the verified new-item case, Purification permanently unlocks the item in your Collection at Common. Finding a higher Tier does not raise its permanent minimum quality; that is a separate Gajov upgrade.

Does gear purify if I die?

Current sources support automatic Purification for eligible gear you bring back to Sanctus after death. This does not cover discarded or lost items, quitting mid-run, crashes, save rollback, or co-op disconnects.

Why is the Loadout Station locked after a mission?

Returning to Sanctus between missions does not end the active run. The Loadout Station can remain locked until the run ends, although the verified rules allow gear swapping within the current mission/run context.

What is the difference between Innate and Temporary Boons?

An Innate Boon is fixed to the equipment at the generic mechanism level. A Temporary Boon applies only to the current run and should not be expected in the next run. Check the current item card for item-specific Innate details.

What does upgrading gear with Gajov change?

A permanent Gajov upgrade raises the item’s minimum quality for future loadouts or drops. Buying an item at a higher Tier and permanently upgrading its minimum quality are different actions. Exact costs and Legendary rules are not covered.

What survives into my next run?

Eligible gear returned to Sanctus can become part of your permanent Collection through automatic Purification. The higher Tier found during the run and Temporary Boons do not become next-run properties. Your next-run floor comes from the item’s verified permanent minimum quality.
